My Journey to Wellness
I started my career in the business world, working long hours as a stockbroker and
management consultant. After many years, I found myself increasingly stressed out, out of shape and overweight. My journey to wellness began with a wake-up call 12 years ago.
In my annual physical exam, I was told that my BMI was over 30 (borderline obese) and my bad cholesterol and blood sugar were elevated. My waistline was also an unhealthy 32 inches and I was showing signs of depression and anxiety. My doctor told me that if I didn’t change my lifestyle to include more exercise,
better nutrition and stress management, I was at risk for developing depression, diabetes, hypertension and heart disease down the road.
This news scared me straight. I quit my job, moved from New York to California, joined a gym, started taking yoga classes and hiking every week. I also cut out junk food and adopted the Mediterranean style diet. The transformation in how I looked and felt was so remarkable, I wanted to spread the news to others so they too could become their happiest, healthiest selves. That's when I decided to become a certified life coach, personal trainer and nutritionist.
In the last 10 years, I have coached many clients in dietary planning, fitness
programming, and stress reduction techniques. My clients have experienced weight
loss, pain reduction, improved sleep, lower levels of anxiety, reduced medications and reversals in chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and
depression. I look forward to sharing my insights with you and helping you achieve
your health goals. Some of my areas of expertise include:
